1 ANDERSEN Jeppe jeppe.andersen@cern.ch nlm I am working on further developing a recently published method for resumming radiative corrections related to the hard emissions giving rise to jet production, but including also the leading virtual corrections. In this way, fully inclusive (i.e. not a priory confined to a specific number of jets) event samples can be constructed, while allowing for fully exclusive analyses. The formalism has so far been applied to production of a Higgs boson in association with jets, we are currently extending the analysis to W/Z+jets and pure jets, while also improving the underlying resummation. 24 FRANCAVILLA Paolo paolo.francavilla@cern.ch nlm mc The goal of my Ph.D. is the measurement of the inclusive jet cross section with the first data taken at LHC. I am working to check the jet energy scale calibration in the high pT region for the ATLAS experiment. The  technique that I am studying relies on the reconstruction of jet pairs on the same side of the event and is sensitive to the description of hard multi-jet configurations, to split-merge effects of different jet algorithms, as well as to how reliably the generators can predict energy- and particle-flows in the inter-jet region. I am doing part of these studies within the MC Network. I will study the influence of event generators, particularly hadronization and underlying event effects on these jet-physics aspects. At the same time, experimentalists don't have many tools at hand which can be used directly for simulation purposes for example various models for Invisible Higgs. At the same time I would like to learn about new packages and how to integrate new package (eg., Baur Wgamma) within a standard event generator (eg.,Pythia)  while avoiding the issue of double counting.
