Measurements typically rely on decent statistics (to allow reliable unfolding) and so focus on regions where the SM cross section is significant, but often precisely predicted.

Searches often focus on regions with small SM backgrounds. Therefore there might well be some complementarity - measurements may cover regions of model space where searches do not reach. This is what we are looking into.
